Our team of inspectors are on call 24/7. They rescue animals who are the victims of cruelty and neglect, trapped animals or stray and injured animals. They respond to complaints and cruelty reports, address concerns with owners and also do pro-active inspections at, for example, pet shops, security companies, abattoirs and other places where animals might be at risk. They educate members of the public and communities on how to care for animals. Their mission is to ensure that all animals they attend to are afforded the five freedoms:

- Freedom from hunger and thirst
- Freedom from discomfort
- Freedom from pain, injury or disease
- Freedom to express natural behaviour
- Freedom from fear and distress
